Welcome

Welcome to The Purple Picket Fence!
I'm making some changes to my online stores. The biggest one being that I'm combining 2 of my stores. My "All Handmade" store and my "Treasure Trove" store are in the process of being consolidated. I'm doing this with the intent of eventually selling mostly all handmade items. I currently have my Etsy store on vacation mode, and am considering whether or not I will continue to list there. My eBay auctions are still ongoing.

The most exciting change is that my daughter, Rachel, is going to be joining me with this site. I hope between the 2 of us that we will be able to keep more things listed and that I will have time to start creating more things. So please join me in welcoming Rachel to The Purple Picket Fence!

And as always, you can sign up for email updates if you want to know when I have special deals going on. And you can also "like" by Facebook page. Thanks for stopping by, I hope you will like the changes and be able to find something you love from my stores!

Welcome and Happy New Year!

There's nothing like a new year to start something new! Well, not exactly new, but in a way this "grand opening" of my stores is new. First a little bit about my history with internet selling. Back in 1999, I kept hearing about this great auction site called "Ebay". So I finally decided it was worth checking out. I registered, and started looking around my very full and cluttered house for things to sell. I decided to start out with my girls' outgrown clothes. They were 8, 5 and barely 3, and I had LOTS of clothes! I did fairly well with that for a while, but then started running out of clothes! The older my girls got, the harder they were on clothes, so I had to expand a bit. That is when I started looking even more around my house and asking myself, do we REALLY need all this STUFF?! Well, one thing led to another, and here I am today a "seasoned" Ebay seller, and opening stores on the internet. I realized in 2003, when my youngest started figure skating, that maybe it was time to start using some of my sewing skills and creativity to sell things online. I didn't really do anything with that thought, though, until this past year or so. Now, my husband has been out of work for over a year, and so that helped me decide it was time to get serious and start promoting my stores. It's either that, or I'm going to have to find an outside job, and I'm trying to avoid that, if at all possible. So there you have it. My internet selling history. You can find the links to my stores on the right side of this page. I also have a Facebook page set up where you can find my portfolio of things I've made, some of which are up for sale in my stores. I will also be posting things I list on Ebay from time to time, so be sure and check my Facebook page out! And you can also follow me on Twitter which is linked to my Facebook page, so my updates automatically go out on Twitter. Those links, if not already posted will be added soon!

I will be posting here periodically with new items I'm adding to my stores and auctions, and may occasionally even run a contest give-away of some sort, so please become a follower so you an easily check back.

Stay tuned for more!
